WTF does the GMB know about "democracy" terry, when you claim to own the arses of 103 "democratically elected" MP's? I think it is you who is the biggest hypocrite whoever visited this site.

Jimbo, Terry is a man who helps PH/HC drivers each week, he also stands by what he beleives in, whether you like it or not. Perhaps you should take a look at how the GMB is actually run before making remarks which do you no credit at all.

In 1990, the GMB parachuted into the taxi trade in Lincoln, promised the earth, told us they would defeat the local council over making WAV a condition of license. Had this "professor" on board, who was going to cite the treaty of rome to defeat it, blah blah, many fell for the snake oil salesmen, but they were full of schiesen, merde, shiete, of course, as always. I do have experience of unions, the T&G, The GMB, The RMT, and all any were interested in was collecting subs. You want Unions, then join. Is there a Union of Chocolate fireguard makers? There actually is a boiler manufacturer in Lincoln (Beel) how many members there, terry?

You should take up a hobby.
A couple for you.

Vinyl from the 1970's has grown in popularity over the last couple of years. (aim for the red one's)

I gather Horse blinkers from the 1910- 1918 period are also rising in value as I type.

Jimbo, don't live in the past, these are different times with new people at the helm with new ideas. At the end of the day a union is only as strong and committed as its members. As the saying goes "you only get out of life what you put into it" How far in support of their case were the members willing to go? How many drivers joined?. And yes I do want unions, they give us the ability to stand with strength, for what we beleive in. Unity is strength.

Jimbo I have never read such drivel as what you produce, how many MPs of the Tory breed do you think The CBI and big business sponsor, all without any LEGAL requirment to consult their members or shareholders.
Unions have to ballot on Political contributions on a regular basis IE democratic process is followed. No idea how many members in your local factory making boilers, no doubt if they all posses your IQ non.
UP THE REPUBLIC ORGANISE EDUCATE AGITATE!

I dont actually mind being shot down by JD as much as it may surprise you. I think its commonly known as a reality check, which we all need from time to time.

However, stating Ever thought of joining could plug you straight in to top level.Terry. is clearly a different type of democracy than what we are all commonly aware of.

JD understand, what i see on here and around the country, is a cess pit of ambiguity, think you in particular could be very helpful in sorting the problem,GMB recognise the problems need advice, ideas, debate, in effect a national policy.Ever thought of joining could plug you straight in to top level.Terry.

I'm humbled that you think I could be of some assistance. I know you work hard in what you do and you do get things done and those sentiments apply to everyone else who is involved in their own way no matter what organisation or area they represent. For instance we have a very able representative of the GMB up here in Manchester and several other able representatives of various groups. Their policies might not be the flavour of the month but nevertheless they work hard at what they do. I'm at that stage of the game where I value my relaxation time and If I felt I could commit myself 100% to any organisation in order to affect change then I would obviously be more than pleased to consider such an invitation.

As it stands, if this website that Alex and Dusty have dedicated so much of their time can help others in the taxi trade in any way shape or form then that is satisfaction for me. Reformation of the Taxi trade is in great need but as long as you have people at the helm who take an active roll of living in the past then change will be a very slow process indeed.

Thank you once again for the invitation.

Regards

JD

JD thats the politest NO Ive read for a long time ,I realise I was probably presenting you with an impossible task. Now if you were working as a consultant maybe things might be different, ever thought of it it pays exceedingly well, and theres no requirment of any particular political alignment, theres no doubt in my mind you are abundantly qualified Terry.
