I wondered about that myself but that's what I was told.

I think they might have meant the North Bridge. What I can tell you is that some nut job Jehovah Witnesses got a hold of him at a vulnerable point in his life and converted him. A few months late he was smashed head first into the road.

I’m a sort of secular agnostic type.

i know it was mostly due to wanting to prove these ****wits wrong that spurred me on for the last 2 1/2 years

Yes, there is a certain satisfaction in shafting everyone concerned. The plate almost pales into insignificance, but knowing you were right means everything.
