Does anyone see a pattern emerging?

The pattern of those that have nothing or don't want to pay nothing wishing to muscle in on those that have laid down the ante, all under the banner of we are all [edited by admin] for not allowing tom, dickand harry and half of eastern europe an easy ride into being a HCO, the real fact is those that seek free plates are scum that tell ppl we are depriving them, well get this, take your [edited by admin] to the cinema and try to sit in the premium seats for the cost of the regular ones, ain't gonna happen is it, yet you plague us with your stupid Oliver cry daily, the bottom line is 50% of PHD's are plain thieves, stealing what isn't theirs because the firm they work can't provide a full income to justify the radio charge, you fly under the freedom flag, but how is it free if you still have to get a radio? ask Cabbyman, ask him if he was independant if he would survive? the answer is NO, we don't interfere with PH affairs, yet you have your nose in on us like some self appointed regulator, face it, you are what you are, a cheap limo service, stay off the hail side of things and don't get us the blame because you can't cope at 8pm Fri/Sat, blame the police for their stupid policy of ramming everyone in the same place and the PM for killing the local pub with no smoking, I'm at an end with this country, I intend to sell out to the highest bidder eventually and go somewhere where lazy ppl and freeloaders don't get anywhere, make no mistake the UK is an old turkey carcass and it's being picked clean by the vultures, and before long the bones don't feed anyone.

Now now Captain lets not spoil a happy occassion!

Happy for the chaps without plates?

Methinks not.

Funny enough this years managed growth plate issue which was done in May, out of 16 plates three are still not taken! This decision will give the trade time to stabilise during these harsh economic times.

Wow!

I disagree with most of that.....but you have a point in respect of the influx going from PH to HC and retaining their PH radios, with the added bonus of usually having to fork out cash for a nearly new WAV.

The winners from deregulation are radio circuits, they charge what they want regardless, they take on more cars irrespective of the amount of work they have, again, charging a premium.

I know people will say "well if the driver doesn't like it he can leave", to go where exactly? the streetwork has dried up because the former PH are now HC, other radio circuits realise they are in a monopoly situation, and we have heard of such terms as cartels being used frequently on TDO.

Perhaps the lads should sign a legal declaration that if they leave the trade they will give the plate back to the council.
