THATS THE ONE JOHN, NOT ITS NOT PRIVATE HIRE ITS PUBLIC IT STOPS AT BUS STOPS.

incidentaly the reporters misunderstood the article so its factualy in correct.

this cannot be done by private hire and taxis need extra licensing of course.

See what I mean.

Nice to see that he treats everyone who tells the truth about his "service" as a liar or a ill informed incompetant.

Maybe this isn't one of those services that are subsidised to the tune of £50 a passenger, but I bet it isn't that far off.

Its called a "taxibus" by some on here, and operated by the same person that refers to it as such.

its not opperated by someone on here, in fact its not opperated at all, it does not exist yet.

but when it is, it will be a taxibus, opperated strictly to the rules I can assure you.

dont count chickens b4 they are hatched.

As I said, you may operate within the "rules" but by operating at all is to the detriment of the independant HC trade.

You only have to look at Manchester to see.

I don't believe you Geoff.

You see Ged, this man is insane.

I have no idea why he thinks he's so superior, instead of responding to my last message by informing me that because the area he works in is rural, therefore there is a smaller proportion of people wanting to drive taxis, he has took it upon himself to provide the vehicles and full time employment. Instead he resorts to his normal debating tactic of namecalling and personal abuse.

If anyone is the berk here Geoff its you mate.

Mick,
if you know the facts why do you argue against them?
I dont think there are less people willing to drive taxis because its a rural area, just less withaconfidence to try it.

bit like you Mick you will sit outside a pub all night waiting for your chance but you wont (or lack the know how) go to your rural area to build a solid buisness, where (if you drop the arrogance) you will do better than your urban counterparts.

its harder in the rural parts in that they expect more from a taxi driver, but they will wait longer.

the answer you gave Mick wasnt a suitable retort

one thing that spoils you is the way you can just jettison principles Mick,
you have always said anything goes as long as they are properly licensed
then you suddenly move against proper licensed provision.

then you ask why am I so superior? I am not its you thats inferior, you cant succede at anything not even running a monopoly taxi forum.

then as a pique you leave to set up another buisness I was hoping this would grow, but no you come back another succesful failure! back on the cabs that were not good enough for you.

Mick, you wont admit it but you arnt flavour of the month in Gateshead many have the same opinion of you as me, thats why you have a go so much, at me I remind you of your local enemies.

I suppose we are stuck with you as you have nowhere else to go but please keep a straight line, dont keep wriggling, and as we said b4 there is no national coverage of taxis as taxibank found to thier cost.

they worried you! they are [edited by admin] all here.

What total garbage, my other business is very much still trading Geoff, the ammount of working time needed to make the business successful was such that I found myself with to much free time. I decided to work my mates cab on the quiet shifts, Mon Wed Thurs nights.

Unfortunatly my business is expanding sooner than expected, I retain my licence but at the moment am concentrating on my other business.

I would just point out that I have never considered the taxi trade not to be good enough, perhaps that is why I devote much of my time running our local branch.

Geoff mate I have NO enemies, there are people who don't agree with my opinions sure but when I call a meeting over two thirds of licensed HC drivers turn up and a growing proportion of PH drivers. Unfortunatly local PH operators have banned drivers working on their circuit from attending, it is obvious that these are the people to which you refer.

I don't consider even you an enemy Geoff, I just wish that you would admit that other peoples opinions are as valid as your own.

You have a bee in your bonnet since we banned you from T&PH but weren't you also banned from TTF both for exactly the same reason.

Your only stuck with me because I choose to log on here Geoff.

I didn't for a couple of months but decided to return just to annoy you and argue with Sussex.

This bloke can't hold a candle to SM.

At least I have growing respect for SM, Yorkie has just lost the plot.

Never mind though, I'll be posting a news item shortly which will get SM back into argument mode,

I understand that Guildford are implementing their new de restriction policy from October but how far will the council raise the bar in terms of vehicle standards. Anyone care to guess?

Best wishes

I would bet anything that any newly licensed vehicle will have to be a WAV.
