thanks for reply BC. Nice to see at least one LA sees what we, as cabbies, already knew. We would probably never need to use them, so why carry them?

Also nice to see my chosen action, if fire occurs, is in line with the Fire Service recommendations. Only one thing, can I wait to phone when there's no chance of saving the car, or do I have to do it straight away? :wink:

The advice from the Chief Fire Officer was to act in the following order;

1. Evacuate the vehicle of all passengers & the driver
2. Stand well clear
3. Call the Fire Service

It took long enough for them to stop insisting on a bale of hay and a bucket and shovel. They will catch up eventually :shock:
