Do not accept it, challenge it through your association, they can only deregulate if there is unmet demand, as you will be aware there is no unmet demand, push your council into court, I gaurantee they won't want to go there, stand up and shout about it before it's too late, they deregulate on unmet demand, if you've been deregulated and you are stuggling to make a living, stick an injunction in asap, you will win after a survey.

Ignore the gods of this site, from what I see they are just after a free plate, the sooner you object the sooner you stop plate issue.

We've already done it, challenge it, the council won't want to go to court I assure you.

Peaks and troughs mate, just because 2000 ppl want a cab at 2am doesn't mean not enough cabs, wanna sub us at 3pm cos theres too many cabs vs punters, ever had to queue for a drink? ever had to queue at the bank?

Yeah think it through.

doom i know what your saying and i wish it was that simple the fact is if it was to go to court the wording NO unmet demand would be the key feature, an induvidual waiting1/2 an hour would be classed as having his/her demand unmet

Wrong.
They can delimit any time they want.
They can only limit numbers if they are satisfied their is NO unmet demand. They are also not compelled to hold a survey, but if they wish to limit numbers they must have up to date information, usually this is obtained by means of an SUD survey.

Yeah, I see your point mate, but why is it only a cab service has to meet this demand, ppl queue at Alton Towers, the bank and nightclubs but if there isn't a cab within 5 minutes they squeal, tell me how this is unfair on us when they don't moan at others?

doom on the question of banks i bank my weekend take every tuesday i dodge mondays because the banks are always stowed out with pensioners who are cashing their pensions paying bills etc,on tues im usually behind 1/2 people max,now imagine if they decided to put a limit on bank numbers, what day would be the best to survey how many banks would be needed to give the public a decent service ,tues with2 customers or mon when its stowed out?think about it,you are thinking from a axi drivers point of view ,courts look on things differently check all the change that have happened the last few years most if not all concern courts

I agree mate, and I'm sorry if I was abrupt to start with, but I've been here two weeks and it seems like a lets deregulate site, you now seem reasonably intellegent, so I can assume you see my points?

I don't need to.

Perfect example, I don't need to, I don't care, when someone clears your house out I hope you can understand and won't bother either the police or the insurance company.

Luv, thats hardly an answer is it, c'mon I've laid the peace pipe in this and other threads, I have a substantual amount of money tied up in a plate, this is paper money and as I don't intend to sell for another 20-30 years it's irrelevent, all I want is to be able to fund myself through it, I was told by a PH driver tonight at 10pm he was having a bad night because he'd only taken 70 notes, I aim for that during the week, I don't wish to thrash around to get it anymore.

btw, PH is 33% cheaper in my city than a hack, can you imagine what that does for me?

If your council have delimited, there's not much you can do about it.
If they haven't yet, take it up with them. They make the decisions, not us.
You aren't going to get anywhere issuing threats on an open forum or crying in your beer.

If you paid attention you would know we were dereglated and got it overturned, a PH company owner got a LO into bed and got his way, then 83 ppl ppl took up the chance to put a WAV on before we got it stopped after 7 years, I bought a saloon plate while the survey was going on because I don't like to drive vans that cos 24k, and this is why I object to ppl wanting a free for all, maybe you're one horse town up in Scotland doesn't appeal to investors, but my city does, and if Sussex gets his way there will be 2000 cabs in Brighton before you know it because Brighton is London On Sea, but you fail to recognise you aren't the only one who will apply for a plate, but if I read right this won't bother you because once you have ruined the taxi trade you will move on.,

There's two types of cabby, one is born to it, and the other is a bum who can't do anything else.
