Salford council are considering de-regulation and according to their LO a meeting is to be held tomorrow night when an announcement is expected to be made. Manchester and Stockport will be holding their breath. |

I've heard they have decided to issue plates to only those who were on the waiting list, 60+ I think. If Stockport decide the same, they will end up issuing close to 30 plates. |

If Stockport decide the same, they will end up issuing close to 30 plates. I suppose that is better than total de-regulation. What happens when a new list is started though, how long before they issue plates to them

Not illegal. I think the important point was that if a formal application had been submitted then that took priority over someone with a name on a waiting list who hadn't submitted an application. I think the council was inviting formal applications from the waiting list when surrendered plates came up, but if no applications had been invited but a formal application was submitted then the waiting list was irrelevant. |

Thanks for clearing that up |
