Just think how long he might have had to wait if the cabs were regulated. lol

Maybe no one wants to drive a cab in Carlisle.

Best wishes

If your next post starts with "during the war" I'll re-christen you Uncle Albert.

Another sterling example of how delimitation delivers nothing at all to the consumer.

The only people to "benefit" were those who thought they could make a quick buck with a HC.

Unfortunatly they have probably destroyed any reputation built previously by full time professional driver..................... the new drivers have built a reputation of unreliability.

GOOD WORK CARLISLE COUNCIL, I bet they wish they'd though about it now.

Sorry but am I being directed to a different link? :?

The story is all about drivers not working because they fear for their safety.

What the f*** has this got to do with de-limitation?

Tell that to the non-plateholders in Cardiff, that now have a choice to run their own motors, and not have to drive for a Mr Big that owned 20 odd % of the restricted plates.

Are you now a fan of the Mr Bigs? :?

I think Cap was putting over the point that waiting time in carlise is still as bad under de limitation as it possibly was under limitation.

Best wishes

Well they must be making a quick buck if people are waiting that long for a taxi.

People usually grossly exaggerate the time they have to wait for taxis, so I would take the claim with a pinch of salt.

But it would no doubt be longer WITH restrictions, so the essence of your point is irrelevant, indeed misleading.

Anyway, even if your point was correct, it still doesn't justify inequality - I suspect you were some kind of feudal baron or slave trader in an earlier life Mick!

Can't see him waiting 1 and a half hours in Carlisle after delimitation, there is nothing in Carlisle regarding nightlife. Load of B*****KS if you ask me, sounds like another Independent Councillor trying to get his name in the paper.

theres a couple of points and JD is, as ever, correct with the main one, waiting time is as bad now, with 6 times as many taxis, as before delimitation.

so....what was the point in the first place, the council at the time were told that no city in the country can cope with the saturday / sunday rush when clubs close.

indeed, now it is worse, we have virtually no private hire left, thyre all hacks, doing as hack drivers tend to do, theyre own thing.

the second point is what kind of idiot would tell everyone he is prepared to wait 1hr 10 minutes, in the freezing cold, to go 500 yards! hehe

regards

Exactly my point ............. its happening everywhere Captain, Carlisle is no different.

DELIMITATION = LESS CHOICE!

THE WAIT WOULD BE NO LONGER CAUSE NONE OF THE NEW CABS ARE WORKING YOU PILLOCK, how the [edited by admin] is that misleading.

My point is very correct, inequality has NEVER been questioned by either the OFT or this government, the only thing they have concerned themselves with is adequate provision to supply taxis upon demand.

You are misleading people mate, because the government questioned why someone who is considered "fit and proper" shouldn't be stopped from starting their own taxi service ................... this is obviously to extend the number of taxi services, but if all the PH drivers become HC and decide as they did in Carlisle to leave the PH offices they used to work in to "do as hack drivers tend to do, their own thing", such PH offices close REDUCING CHOICE TO THE CONSUMER.

I will ignore the referal to the person you mention TDO, my name is Charlie. (actually its not but hey, I bet your not called TDO and I bet Captain Cab isn't a Captain and as for Yorkie well :roll: )

DELIMITATION = LESS CHOICE!

And where exactly is it happening?

Or is this yet another sweeping T&G opinion, packed full of flawed rhetoric?

What T&G opinion .................... its not even my opinion .............. its fact.

I don't work in Carlisle ..................... I reported this happening where I work ................. Captain Cab confirmed its happening elsewhere ...........
