Why do you say that?

A union asked for a ballot, the council agreed to that ballot, and the drivers voted the way they thought best.

If it wasn't for the GMB the ballot wouldn't have taken place.

I stated that because the report suggests a survey will not take place, I presumed the GMB members in Tendring were in favour of a survey and therefore requested a ballot.

Perhaps they should have done it the UNITE way and asked people who werent employed in the industry anymore :lol:

So putting the fact that the GMB members wanted a survey and the likelyhood one will not take place, I suggest it doesnt look good for GMB members in Tendring.

You could be right, but at least the GMB ensured the option was available.

And it's worth remembering not all GMB PDB members favour restricting numbers.

The GMB members in Tendring have my sympathy, looking at some of the comments from drivers in the report it seems like a 'what about me' mentality.

Just goes to show, Turkeys do vote for christmas!

Perhaps, instead of just using complicated things in questionnaires, such as words ( :roll: :lol: ), the addition of pictures may help the person completing a form to understand what any implications are.

This one could be useful in many cases within the trade.

Please look at the picture below. On a scale of 1-10 (1 being "not at all" and 10 being "very much!"), how happy does the picture make you feel?

I was at the meeting which agreed to send out the letter and what was agreed was that the letter would state that if the proprietor did not return his ballot paper then it would be deemed that she/he had no objection to the survey. Therfore the 120 who did not return their papers clearly have no objection. If I were the London Region Secretary I would be making that point very clear.
