We dont have to see the logic, but it can be used as an argument either way, are we in such a society where we need the government to tell us when and when not we can have a drink?
The job of the police is to uphold the law, the day they start to move away from this, will be the day we live in a police state.

the second paragraph is far from true, in fact its contradictory, I made a report to the police a while ago and asked why no action was taken, the answer was;
"that it was not a cost effective investigation" in other words, the burgalar that turned you over last night will only be picked up if they can afford the fuel for the police cars.
computers have a lot to answer for they make so many decisions about us,
in the health service, you live or die as to whether your quality of life justifies the cash it would take to make you better,
taaxidrivers. dont boast in hospital corridors that you do 100 hours a week.
they may decide your life aint worth living.
