So currently we have; 41Councils in the process of, or completed taxi demand surveys.
20 Council's that have stated no change in taxi quota policy.
At least 6 that will miss the DfT deadline.
And not one single council that has yet given a justification for keeping taxi quotas.
Now there's a surprise.

Now there's a surprise. ![]() Denbighshire is interesting because they have not changed their entry requirements. They have delimited without any compliance on new licences being wav. 34.4% of councils still restrict numbers but there are still 83% of the 118 restricted councils who have yet to make a decision. When this list reaches 114 it will leave just one third of authorities throughout England and Wales that still restrict numbers. If it weren't for this website we wouldn't know that would we? Yes, Mr Cope retired during January. I understand we are going to be reunited with the buses department, rather than have our own civil servant. regards Captain cab |

Do you know who has taken over the duties of Rupert Cope for the time being or do I have to revert to phoning them tomorrow? Best wishes JD |

The department is still called the buses and taxis division, although taxis and PH had their own section. I think it was Sue Sharpe who took over Mr Copes position until a replacement was announced. I dont know if the replacement has yet been announced, although I understand it was going to be someone who was working in the buses section. regards Captain cab |

All 117 councils that still restrict numbers now have a comment as to their latest situation with regard to addressing the Government guidance. These comments will be updated as and when they change. Best wishes JD |

Even though the list isn't a true reflection of either restrictive practice or plate values. In short it tells the half of the tale that suits the argument offered, not the argument that some members are offering in opposition, and therefore the whole picture. B. Lucky |

Well even if you are right (which you aint), then half the truth is a lot more than we have ever had out of you. |
