I also once saw a private hire driver who just came to the rank put a cigar in the hackney owners mouth and light it
I asked why he did that and he said his a rich man and im below him so have to show respect.

Oh how ive missed you, now i know this will be hard for you to get your head around but the so called value of my plate is not something i dwell on.Not nearly as much as you ! Ive had it for god knows how long so its paid for itself .The same way say,my house has.As in life some people rent,some buy.Some maybe like yourself have a hint of dare i say it "jelousy" xx

I did nearly £200 on saturday only worked about 8 hours
Yh 70k for full its all on my name now
I heard I can make 500-600 monday to thursday and 500-600 friday saturday so its good.

I used to see it a lot in oldham the guy who owns a hackney has more respect than the guy driving as driver or private hires few friends of mine who are asian when we was on rank people used to come see them and offer them a drink or fag or something I also once saw a private hire driver who just came to the rank put a cigar in the hackney owners mouth and light it I asked why he did that and he said his a rich man and im below him so have to show respect.

I usually find that happen here , i cant even remember the amount of times ive been stood outside my cab when someone tries to put a cigar in my mouth or money in my hand . Even punters sometimes say they love being in a cab with a owner and tip generously ! FFS

70k is a lot of money for a plate but its money well spent if the punters are there. We have been talking about deregulation in Maidstone for years but its never happened so our plates continue to change hands for reasonable money. Being regulated here means we can all earn a good living either as an owner driver or operator
