I really hope your T&G colleagues are as blasé about the OFT report, as you Nigel.

Take it from me, the genie is out of the bottle, and soon you will be able to call me one of your HC colleagues.

And Mr Kavanagh will return to his buses.

great title, but its not all over till the fat lady sings.

sussex, i know its a revolutionary idea, but why dont private hire not pick up illegally for one month, and purely work their radios throughout the country.

The ensuing chaos would show both local and national government the folly of their positions.

The only thing to come out of this whole experience seems to be that the T&G cannot hope to go on in the ridiculous position some of its members have put it in.

are you advocating mass civil disobidience and law breaking?
the biggest folly of any position is yours.

no mr guest i certainly am not

i stated a fact, if the private hire industry operate by its conditions of license for a couple of weekends, the hackney carriage trade in many places would not be able to cope with the resulting thousands on the streets.

nothing illegal there, just operationg to their modus operandi.

such an act may better advise people of the actual situation that the many lies and half truths currently being spouted.

What a load of garbage.

I tell you what though, its a great idea, because people will have confidence in being able to book a return journey with the operator that took you out. Instead of the greedy green eyed drivers letting down their own bread and butter trade then complaining that the H/C can't cope.

What a burke.

B. Lucky

Hmmm,

i must have touched a raw nerve with that comment, you see in our area we have [edited by admin] of hackneys, the majority of which switch their radios off at a certain time when ranks are busy.

The pre booked customers cant get back home then without a struggle.

Obviously this just happens where I am.
