I thought it newsworthy to note that Mr Jones was not part of the Sefton Taxi and private hire working group. I also thought it newsworthy to note that Mr Jones contribution to the "transfer of licensing functions" was submitted independently and on behalf of no one but himself. I take this to mean he probably represents no official organisation in Sefton and the only person he now speaks for, is himself? Unless you know different? Regards JD |

Unless you know different? Regards JD I understand different, and have minutes to the contrary. regards CC |

CC If a past or present forum member appears in the press or in official documents then surely that's newsworthy vis-a-vis the forum? |

So 18 months or so after the deadline 12 councils still haven't got around to reviewing their policy.
Bit pi** poor really.

I have no idea of knowing who is a part of the Sefton working group I only know that Mr Jones wasn't a part of the working group on that particular day, according to the minutes. I also note that there was no apology of absence. Are you saying he was there? Regards JD |

Regards JD To be honest I havent got a clue about the movements of Mr. Jones, I do however have minutes of previous meetings where Mr.Jones was present. As for apologies for absence, we have 51 members in Carlisle, so far I have received 1 apology for tommorrows AGM, when 15-20 people turn up, it doesnt means we have lost 30 paying members.

Even now, I have a feeling only the sharp eyed will see the dastly deed? Regards JD |

Perhaps you have answered your original question because some people might find it newsworthy that a man who represents no one but himself is allowed to sit in on a working group that makes decisions on behalf of others? If Mr Jones is a part of the Working group then whom does he represent? We know he doesn't represent the local Taxi trade through any local organisation so why would he be on the working group? Why should one individual who represents no one but himself be allowed to make policy in respect of the local trade? It is my understanding that he doesn't officially represent anyone in Sefton but you can obviously set the matter straight by proving I am wrong? Regards JD |

Regards JD You are of course presuming Mr. Jones represents no-one, which I dont actually agree with. Quote: Why should one individual who represents no one but himself be allowed to make policy in respect of the local trade? You mean like Private Hire Operators? Who represent their own businesses? Of course, you will be aware that trade representatives dont make policy in respect of the local trade, thats the job of the LA? Quote: It is my understanding that he doesn't officially represent anyone in Sefton but you can obviously set the matter straight by proving I am wrong?
I believe you are incorrect, for all you know Mr Jones may represent 'Carlisle TOA left handed shotgun users of Sefton' branch

captain cab wrote: You are of course presuming Mr. Jones represents no-one, which I dont actually agree with. You might not agree but the facts speak for themselves and officially in Sefton he represents no one but himself. Quote: You mean like Private Hire Operators? Who represent their own businesses? I haven't got a clue to the status of Mr Delta cars or who he represents, do you? However, he's not the subject we're debating. Quote: Of course, you will be aware that trade representatives dont make policy in respect of the local trade, thats the job of the LA? Ah but this particular working group is a consultative body who supplies feedback on all aspects of proposed Taxi policy and the effects any changes are likley to have on the Taxi and Private hire trades. Are you suggesting their views are disregarded when councillors wish to make changes? Isn't your buddy on record as saying the Taxi trade has a good working relationship with the Sefton council? I suspect Mr Jones and Mr Delta might belong to one of the following Sefton Taxi and Private hire trade groups. Considering how Mr Jones like to pass himself off as belonging to the North West Taxi Association I suspect it may well be that. But didn't the North west Taxi association cease to exist when it became part of the NTTG? • High Park Private Hire Drivers Association; • North Sefton Hackney Carriage Association; • North Sefton Licensed Private Hire Taxi Operators Association; • North West Taxi Association; • Sefton Licensed Operators and Proprietors Association; • Southport Owner Driver Association; • Southport Station Taxi Association; • South Sefton Hackney Carriage Association; • South Sefton Radio Association; and • Transport & General Workers Union Quote: I believe you are incorrect, for all you know Mr Jones may represent 'Carlisle TOA
Perhaps Mr Jones does represent Carlisle TOA but which one of you plays the puppet? Regards JD |

For F*** Sake Captain! Why talk in riddles? If you know something's missed or not quite correct why not put the matter straight instead of trying to trip people up? It's getting to the stage where anything you post i dont bother reading anymore, and it's a pity because now and again you do post some interesting stuff! |

I thought I made it clear, it is my understanding Mr. Jones does represent a body witin Sefton, where JD disagrees. The minutes I have are from a previous meeting and they are in hard copy as opposed to web format, I am therefore unable to reproduce them. Coincidentally, I spoke with Mr. Jones today, and I hope he'll come on and clarify the situation. regards CC |
