lol What was it the dummies of the Taxi trade were saying a few months ago? I'll have to search my archive and recycle a few choice quotes.

Well done to TDO for seeing this through and getting these guys their licenses. We now have to see about getting a judicial review for 3 maxblack and put some icing on the cake.

I like the reference to the word "MAY" its exactly as I highlighted the very fact in the salteri statement of facts.

Absolutely Brilliant result.

Typical judgement.

Starts ok, then gets a bit iffy, then finishes just right.

Makes me wonder if they do it on purpose.

It will make a fantastic article. lol I can just see the headlines, Top QC's taken to the cleaners by cab driver sat behind a computer. lol

Someone better tell the Scotsman to hold the front page.

As an aside I wonder if I should say I'm an investigative journalist for TDO? lol

I look forward to Mr Skull and Taylor's FOC request to the council asking how much all this has cost the good folks of Edinburgh. :-k

I also look forward to them getting their plates. :D

Yes, I like this section -

[14] ..... It may be that having embarked upon this policy the local authority must keep constantly under review the issue of supply and demand so as to be able to give a reason for refusal in that context on the basis that in each case that they are considering they are satisfied there is no significant demand for further licenses.

I wrote to the council on 12th November 2006 asking for up to date demand information. No answer. I applied on 27th November, there has been no answer to this date.

Jim Inch has gone on record to say in council documents that my application has been put forward to the April RC meeting by which time demand information will be available.

However, this judgement says that information should have been available at the time of application, as per Coyle. By Inch's own admission it wasn't.

Think they're going to deny?

It is interesting that the appeal Lords were less concerned with "consideration" of licences within three months than the final decision within 6 months. Seems there was no need for the council to get its knickers in a twist and for Inch and Wigglesworth to have their tea and buns meeting to continue "consideration" of my application over to the 28th February meeting of the RC. Their being all over the place has actually caused them to go down a revealing route they probably now wish they hadn't.

Time for Inch, Millar, Wigglesworth and, not to forget, Anderson all to resign?

I remember a while ago on another thread when I said the best thing that could have happened to those wishing to keep quotas in Edinburgh was for you and the other lads to win your court cases.

If that had happened then they just might have got away with not de-limiting. Now I think it's odds on.

Come on own up, who has killed off fasties?

Went to have a nose to see how many of the lads on there were congratulating the folks for their win on Friday, and it's having a mid-season break. :D
