Can anyone give me some advice. Having finnished working offshore I am interested in buying a taxi plate. Would anyone be able to advise me if this is going to be worthwhile proposition, has anyone out there regretted this, or perhaps they feel it is the best thing they have done. Anyway I would be pleased to read your comments.
Well all the best to you all and thanks for any advice you may be able to give.
Kind Regards
Dave

Its a gamble, and it all depends on how lucky you feel.

You could spend tens of thousands on a plate, and the council could get rid of premiums soon after. That would leave your plate worth-less.

Most councils dont have restriction, thus they don't have massive plate premiums. If I was you, I would go and work in one of those areas, or drive a PH in a restricted area.

And put your money in property.

Is this a genuine enquiry or a Troll? I suspect the latter but just in case it isn't may I ask what district do you propose to work in?

I know where you can buy one for 45 grand if your interested? But why buy one when you can get one for free. Just choose the destricted location you want to work in and set up shop. I can reccommend the district of Macclesfield, they earn the same as us here in Manchester at weekends if not more and you can use a saloon vehicle as a Hackney carriage. So go for it, you have nothing to lose?

Best wishes

JD
