Adhesive PH/HC Plates That Disintegrate On Removal

Does anybody have any information about these 'new' type plates that I heard were being used in Leeds as a trial some months ago?

I don't know the company that makes the equipment to produce these plates, but the reason they are now being championed by a few councils is to stop drivers 'de-plating' their vehicles & allowing their wives to use what is in effect a private hire vehicle or taxi as a private car, when the licensed driver is not using it for work.

Obviously, this does not apply to purpose built/WAV Hackney Carriages as it would soon be apparent, but to saloon Hackneys & Private Hire.

There is quite a problem in Brum with PHV being used by a licensed PH driver part-time over the weekend, then the driver de-plating the vehicle for weekdays & the wife, brother, fourteenth cousin twice removed whatever using the vehicle.

If anyone has any information about the company that makes these, I would be grateful.
