Yes. If you have an anologue tacho, the driver has to keep his last 28 days charts on him. You can get a nice little wallet to hold them all.

was only 7 when i was driving on tacho, and the 45 minutes break could be 3 x 15mins - so it went on every time i was dropping goods

even had a stopwatch to be legal.....lol

still 45 mins break.
but first break must be 30 mins, cannot do 3x15 mins.

daz

stop was is not legal as 15 mins on stop watch could be 14 on taco...fine, thats why i go 2 mins over 30 min break and do 20 mins for second, that way i am not breaking the law.
i came aware of this when i worked in a large traffic office, we used to send various disks away for checking and when the disks were returned we had infringment warnings. we were told disks were check with electronic equipment.

all our charts went for checking and i was never pulled over anything, not even over-speed which was surprising

i was on day runs, what was surprising was that a couple of drivers who were supposed to be on 2 day runs/overnight but got done on the first day and spent all the 2nd at home, or came home overnight instead of the planned B&B/night out - and the doubled mileage/fuel - never ever got caught! tamworth-exeter and back an the same the next day instead of staying down there
