I always thought that was why we were "impossible" to assess. Is sitting on a rank work or rest? Driving POB and back to rank is, imho, work, but is waiting for a hire (on rank or offic/home)? We are not as easy to assess as say an HGV driver doing x hours driving/rest/xhours loading/x hours driving/rest.

By any definition, 22 hours is too much, regardless of how little of that time is spent driving.

I'd suggest looking at the current definitions of "driving", "duty" and "rest" in the current PSV and HGV regulations. It's quite clearly defined there. Sitting in the cab or the office waiting for a fare isn't driving, it's "duty". "Rest" is a clearly defined break, usually away from the vehicle.

tell em about spread overs, other duties, daily driving and rest, weekly rest....

"rest" BTW couldnt be on a rank as the vehicle moving means it has to start "rest" again,.......... unless 45 minutes stood still is typical on a rank, the days i could be unloading 15 minutes and add thos stops up as my daily rest are gone i hear, i had a stopwatch....lol
