CPC Training – Important information

Dear Operator

As I am sure you are aware, it is now a legal requirement for all professional drivers of PSV’s to have completed their CPC and to be in possession of their CPC card whilst driving.
Transport and the Connected County carry out spot checks at all Mainstream and Special Needs School throughout the Academic year. The majority of spot checks are carried out with VOSA and we will be working with VOSA to ensure that all PSV drivers working on County Council contracts are compliant with this requirement.

Please be advised that with immediate effect, all PSV Drivers will be required to show their CPC cards at all spot checks.

It is important to note that not meeting your legal requirements is a major breach of the Transport Special Conditions and can result in the Termination of Contract.

8.5       Major Breach and Termination of Contract
8.5.1   Where the Contractor:
(a)    fails to ensure that all Vehicles and/or Drivers comply with any and all requirements of the Law;
Please can I ask that all drivers are made aware of the need to show their CPC cards to staff from VOSA and Transport and the Connected County when requested and ask for their full cooperation with this matter.

If you require any further information please feel free to contact me.

I hope they check the DCPC of any community bus drivers too. that should stir things up a bit, many think they are exempt.
