The base im on have asked for copies of licences, insurances, etc, etc on the grounds the LA want to see them all every six months


hang on, its the council who issue them!

Yes and it is not unknown for drivers to cancel their insurance policy once the Council have seen it.

and how long would it take to ping up on an ANPR camera?....

seeing a cover note every 6 months wouldnt mean there hadnt been TWO cancelled policies would it

they dont just want insurances, they want my vehicle licence, driver licence/badge both of which are for 1 year and they have anyway

BUT, hang on, I too am an operator (just like the base) and they havent asked me to provide proof of insurance...

Seems the LA only want the base to SAY theyve seen my new licence, which was - of course - issued by.....the same LA...

I suspect they want to inspect them at the office as part of their enforcement activities, and it is a legal requirement for them to have copies.
