I did not like the position, but, given the rules as they stand, the Rossendale Driver was not breaking the Law. (I was also starving and one of the ladies was on the verge of collapse due to hunger so we travelled.)

By the way, I am considering licensing as Hackney Driver and Vehicle elsewhere and then using my current vehicle as Private Hire in Plymouth in protest at scrapping my vehicle due to emissions. I have passed a "knowledge" from elsewhere and will still be Plymouth Licensed and will have a Euro 4 vehicle, also Plymouth Licensed. A PH Operator who would love to annoy the LA will pass me all his W/C work on all days, I will pay no Radio Rent or Settle as some call it, I will use my "Out of Town Vehicle and Badge" 2 or 3 days a week. I do not like the situation that allows me to do this, but I do see it as a viable protest which unfortunately is within the Law as it stands.

Viable vehicles are going to the breakers to be replaced by Euro 4 or 5 Taxis. I will do all I can to protest this stupidity.

That's the location on your computer. #-o
You need to upload it somewhere for anyone else to see it or give the link to where you got it. 8)

It was in an attachment from my LO.
It is taken from Private hire news issue 62 summer 2013.

You need to upload it to somewhere everyone can download from. Perhaps Alex could help?

In Brum it's 10% on top of the fare if you want to pay by card.

The extra charge is for the facility of using a debit or credit card and the fare is what is on the taximeter at the end of the journey.

The driver does not benefit from any part of the 10% surcharge, which all goes to the company that provides the card terminal.

A notice advising of the 10% surcharge for paying by card is displayed inside the taxi.

Passengers may also pay in cash and thereby avoid the 10% surcharge.
