Every document I show to my LA gets scanned and put on "the system" for my LO and/or admin to check

But i cant show them copies.....

HTF does someone looking as a screen know I had shown a genuine original document not a copy?....

Every time I renew my badge I have to show my driving licence, not a copy. Yet at the same time I have to sign a mandate giving them permission to check my licence details with the DVLA.

So if they can check with the DVLA why is'nt a copy acceptable, in fact why do they need to see my licence at all ? Same goes for the DBS and insurance, both have serial numbers they can check with the issuing companies.

Actually they are not civil servants.

glad you mentioned the DVLA mandate we pay £5 each renewal, almost always a year licence, yet the DVLA state the mandates is for THREE years.......

3 years as well.
When I asked why they need to see the licence when they have the mandate I was told 'We never check (with the DVLA) but it's there if we need to', 'Once we've seen the original licence there's no need to check it with the DVLA' #-o
