I asked who decided if the DBS update service could be used...
Now i see why they dont want to use updates

I am aware that the DBS are currently removing authorisation to bodies who do not complete over 100 applications a year. At present the District Council carry out just over 100 a year. If we changed to a computerised service the District Council would lose its authorisation to carry out DBS checks.
Take away the repeat checks and they lose status
