I suggested to one of the hackney drivers that they may want to request an increase for when the new minimum wage comes in as it takes about 6 months to implement and there is an election in may with all the trouble that caused 4 years ago. I was simply told the usual "that will kill the trade". Our rates are already higher than the hackney rates and we will be increasing ours.
