A curious thought occurred....

As a licensed driver, I am subject to the "fit and proper" test, which at best very subjective but are those that subject us to the test also fit and proper?

I am reminded of the labour party conference whereby an 80 year old was arrested under anti terrorism laws for Heckling!
A little power in the wrong hands is too often misused.

Are licensing officers required to show fit and proper credentials?

Who watches the watchers?

Well, it's not just LOs, I would be more concerned about licensing councillors.

But to answer your question, the answer is no.

To get my first badge i had to appear before a full council meeting to explain a few things, TBH they all looked dodgier than me (and welsh, which i am not)

To get a school contractors badge (not even a HC/PH badge) i had to show my DBS and explain the same points to a dexk jockey at the county council
