It is a fact that in any industry there will be some that do not play by the rules. In the limo industry it doesn't help that there are no hard and fast rules throughout the land. VOSA are very active at the moment. I was watched by them myself last week in Nottingham. I pulled up to drop my passengers at their prom and I was approached by a VOSA official and a police officer. The asked how many passengers I was carrying and then counted them out of the limo. I was displaying my private hire plate as per my LA instructions. I was also wearing my PH badge. The VOSA official took down my vehicle details and badge details and thanked me for my time. It took all of 3 minutes. Some other drivers were not happy to be pulled. Some were sent around the corner for a vehicle inspection. I do not know the outcome of any of these inspections but at least it shows that VOSA are doing what they can to get rid of the bad apples.

I think you will find that VOSA now undertake the majority of licensing spot checks and they don't discriminate on what trade you are in?

I always laff at the clowns who go on about vehicles licensed in one authority yet working as private hire in another authority because these circus acts are of the opinion that VOSA only operate in certain parts of the United Kingdom.

Refusal is a luxury that many cab drivers can ill affored because the reality is that in many authorities any flagger no matter what they are eating or drinking is a welcome sight. You should be thankfull that you can affored to bypass pound notes, because many can't.

I agree.

The London trade is open to one and all, no number restrictions, the worlds best quality controls, in fact bar the LTI monopoly, you would be in heaven down here.

Just a couple of years hard graft learning London and it's anyones for the taking.

I have a brand new Chrysler 300 stretched limousine in my garage as we speak. It is just waiting for it's SVA appointment before it gets registered

And how long has it been there gathering dust because they wont SVA a C300, due to the brake & back axle problems.
A1 take theirs to Scotland to get a SVA on them as they cant get one in England.....FACT

You are a little out of date. Chrysler C300's are passing the SVA without any problems now. It has been in my garage for 2 weeks waiting for the appointment that takes about 6 weeks to come through.
By the way, it isn't mine. i personally don't like them but each to their own.

Well Grandad I am seriously impressed. If you can get this

http://www.paradiselimos.co.uk/chrysler.html

in your garage, then that is one hell of a garage.
