From what I've seen in the past. most of the problems with licensing officers come from officers that belong to the IOL.... I do not believe they are interested in the Hackney and private hire trade.. their interest is only what is best for them..... only Turkey's vote for Christmas ......

I'm not sure anyone is voting for anyone. :?

The IoL are asking questions, and if folks don't tell them their viewpoint then folks shouldn't whine when an iffy viewpoint is put across to the next gov.

Lets look at this objectively.....I dont think HC proprietors having to obtain PH Operator licenses was a good thing.

I dont think LA's having control of our fees to make a profit was a good thing.

I dont think delimitation is a good thing.

As MrT says.....turkeys voting for xmas.

I'd rather be told about these loopholes, which loopholes, if the IOL are aware of loopholes shouldnt they try to fill them?

For those that didn't take part in the survey, alas it's too late now.

I look forward to seeing the survey stats, and look forward to seeing the spin put on them.

Ive just had a plug from the IOL saying they were Extending their survey period until 30th June 2010.

http://www.instituteoflicensing.org/taxireform.html

I wonder how much heed the coalition Government will pay this lot now...Labour of Old just loved this kind of organisation because it was another tool to subjugate us with.

Now though we at least have a Government that can and enjoys thinking for Itself and where before the IOL had a sympathetic ear that may no longer be the case...Any thoughts on that?

Would that mean that Button has been undone, again?

I think the problem with the IoL is that they think they can solve everything on their own, and they simply can't.

If they became less insular then they might be given more credence, but at the mo when it comes to taxi licensing they are on a different planet.

That was a waist of 5 minutes of my time. The 1976 act needs to be looked at or abolished, nothing wrong with the 1847 act. Its the ppl who try to implement it that’s the problem.
