I cant really poach a driver already working cos id probably only have a part time job 20-25 hours a week, £7/hr, enough for a semi-retired person, i had an ex-cop working for me before, he had his pension so was happy, my 20 hours would qualify a driver for WFTC though

but at 3 months to get a badge i cant expect anyone to wait

Well you don't know until you try and the driver when not working for you could continue to taxi, it was just a thought :wink:

spoke to an owner/driver from a neighbouring LA who said his area would issue an "interim" badge till the CRB came back upon satisfactory completion of the medical/driver test/etc

i think i may move....

What happens if they issue a temporary badge to some one who then rapes a passenger before the CRB check comes back saying that the chap has form? I can't see how any council would allow themselves to be put in that position. But then our county council allow it for escorts.

trust me, i shall be asking

if a police record was accepted interim till the CRB came back it would be sensible
