Hi all

Can you tell me I know of a hack in my town whom carries 6 people and is only licenced for 5.

Does this effect his insurance, should the licensing council be made aware?

Im new to the business and dont want to be seen as a troublemaker.

Im told he is a bit of a know it all and some guys say he thinks he is above the law so we would like to bring him down a peg or two.

I'd let it go...If You make waves
then he might make bigger waves and its not worth the Sh*t...let the Council sort it out.

If it's licensed for 5, then it is legally only allowed to carry a maximum of five punters.

Send an e-mail to your licensing officer.

Let the LO do his own dirty work.

I don't agree, because he is combining two fares into one illegally & doing his fellow cabbies out of fares.

He should be reported.

In the weird and wonderful world of LA'S [ex Oswestry LA conditions]you could, until 12 months ago, be plated for 4 persons and then carry a 5th person if two of the ppl were small children. I am sorry I missed the boat with them, truly a star LA amongst wannabees.

Same in Brum until about 10 years or so ago.

After re-reading the thread and reflecting further, report him, anonymously if possible.

One of those passengers won't have a seat belt available so endangering themselves in the event of an accident.

As I stated previously, he is driving without insurance.

As Brummie stated, he is doing other, law-abiding colleagues out of work.

If he is that arrogant, what other breaches are there against the licensing conditions or the law?

You'd loose your licence immediately in some LAs if you had one of those.

So it would be a pointless exercise to "grass" him up then, without proof.

That one has Variable speed limits due to magnetic anomalies....as Scotty off Star trek might say " Ye Canna defy the laws of physics Jim"
