By stiff, did I mean he berated or harangued? I didn't but I see it could be interpreted that way. He's actually very diplomatic, in my experience of listening to him, he points out that it's a taxi rank (even though it's not regulated) and asks them to respect our right to free access to it. It's all in the authoritative tone he uses, and as most of the public aren't aware of what a "real" rank looks like, they, in the main, take his advice and park behind it.
So in his case, I make an exception to my "all traffic wardens are little hitlers" stance, and in turn apologise to you for any misunderstanding.
