And if there is are the lines whole???? no bits missing and have a line across at both ends, if the lines are damaged in anyway with bits missing they cannot issue a ticket

Of course they can issue a ticket. But in the situation of incomplete lines, an appeal against the ticket will succeed.

The traffic warden up here a MR McKay look alike and act alike was about to issue a ticket and I informed him the lines where broken 2 days later he had them repainted by the council
If they are broken take a picture to support you

Pleased to let you all know, Two days off of a year the driver won his appeal. I went with him and put all your points forwards, and it seems if a taxi is working it is exempt on a rank, whether attended or not. Obviously it has to be licensed for the area, and not be unreasonably obstructing the operation of the rank. So,no, you can't stroll off and get the Sunday paper cause you're bored.

The slight difficulty here is, once a ticket is issued it becomes the taxi drivers responsibility to prove that they were working, which was easy for my chap as one of the parking attendants photos showed the meter was on.

A victory, non the less, against this new insidious council tax .

Thanks everybody,

Nick.
