cheers again, I think i will be opting for local taxi service and keep my fingers crossed that it doesnt upset anyone.

Ive never really got my head around all this what is and what isnt a taxi - as far as i can see we ALL drive taxis - some have private hire taxis and some have hackney carriage taxis but too all intents and purpose they are both taxis. As long as you act lawfully and within the confinesz of what your license allows i dont see a problem.

I have no intention of ever picking up unbooked from a rank or the side of the road but i do want the public to know that i offer a taxi service

My Punters must be a whole lot more Intelligent than yours then..I'd say the Majority around here can tell the Differance between the two...they might still apply the word Taxi but thats only because of its generic convenience than its accuracy.
