Nope, mark my words it will be one national rate and it will be below average.

will you make up the difference if your wrong?

can you really see a LA charging £200 now accepting a £100 fee being imposed?

it would be nice but then they would bump something else onto us

ours is £145, the next LA is £70

if I asked why, i know what would be said..

"They have twice as many to issue so covering costs is easier"

taking that to its logical conclusion means an LA with 1 LO on £20K would need to charge £20K for the one badge it issued...

You are wrong. There would need to be a vehicle license as well as the drivers badge so the cost could be split.

Probably more like £12K each to allow for the extra paperwork carried out by another member of staff.

I believe they are only allowed to charge the actual cost of issuing the licence?

Not an expert on English law, but there is a court case. Manchester v King? Should be on here somewhere.

Driver is process costs only.

Vehicle is whatever they think, and the local trade allow, they can get away with.

Operator is a joke.

They also have to do a best value revue?
And Sussex is wrong and right? They will most certainly charge what they want as he puts it:-)but they are not allowed to make a profit, some councils are charging fees and they have not even adopted the 1976 act? Is yours one of them? If so you can have all your fees repaid to you? Just like PPI
