Yeah sorry guys, that's what I meant, they said that they'd send it off and I'd get a copy of it and then have to take it and show them it.

Don't forget to register for the updates. It costs a bit every year but you won't need another one after this. And give the council the reference number.

Yes you do. Some councils aren't signing up for it because the software is to expensive.

Hey, I past my locality test :) boy was that tough.......

Sent off the check on the 10 June and had been tracking it online, and then one day a few weeks ago when I logged back in it had went back to stage 2, (There's 5 stages) I called them and they said that they'd made a mistake on the name when they were searching the various lists etc. and that I'd have to wait again for the whole process to start again.....shucks :/ it's back to stage 4 now after they've re-submitted it.

Looks like I'll have to wait just a little bit longer. :?

This is how it works.

1. You fill in the form.
2. The Council Send it off to the CRB office.
3. The CRB office send it to your local Police HQ.
4. The local Police HQ will send it back to the CRB office.
5. The CRB office send it back to you.

It's just a paper trail.

yeah thanks man, just it's been ages, spoke to them yesterday again at the CBS office and this time I spoke with a very nice lady, she had a look at the application form and it would seem that they got a letter wrong on my surname, so it had gone to "certificate printed" but then it was queried by the police as of course no one exists with that name (not incorrectly anyway) so it's had to do the rounds again.

just waiting and waiting and waiting...............

MP's and central government need to look at this, surely if jobs are on offer its crazy to make someone unemployed wait 6-10 weeks whilst claiming benefits?

We have had letters from our council yesterday. They apparently have been issuing licenses before the DBS check has come back. They are now saying that they will no longer do this and drivers must ensure that they complete the forms on time.
