The owner has 3 companies, one for TfL contracts, that's the one that went tits up, another doing county council and commercial buses, a third based at a different location provided shuttle buses for a theme park. It was always a bit cloudy about who was employing the drivers, which company's buses we were driving. There's a big Employment Tribunal case coming up soon so I can't say a lot more in public.

The claims are for wrongful dismissal, a protective award for not being consulted, which will apply to all staff, and TUPE for those who have been retained by the other companies and have been messed about with different or no contracts. It's messy.

I've heard back about my current TUPE cases, one chap's claim dismissed as he hadn't been there for 2 years, the rest of us lumped together in one big case with separate divisions as all are claiming protective award for no consultation, and wrongful dismissal, another group for TUPE as well. No date for the hearing, but there's over 55 of us involved. The TUPE cases will be interesting to follow.
