I think if you had a website hosted in Malta, you cannot get an operators license in the uk.

If the booking office is outside of the country then you could operate a call centre and not be in breach of the 1976 act.

However each person that takes a job from the call centre must have an operator's license.
Thanks for that Sussex. I would say that its academic if the call centre is inside the uk, however I accept your point. On another thread The captain mentioned that HC would be ok to do the work because I supect they are under the 1847 Act and not the 1976 Misc. Act?

The HC is in both but the difference is the HC does not need a PH Operators license to accept pre booked work.

Thanks Captain, but I am wondering, Does the company who takes the 'first contact' telephone call from a customer need the OP's license {They have no vehicles/ no drivers/ no liability}. They always use Licensed vehicles to do the jobs. Either HC or PH [PH with OP'S License]

I don't recall the council asking anything about websites when we applied for our operators license. Come to think of it I think it is actually hosted in the States.

If they are in the course of their business making provisions for the invitation or acceptance of bookings for a private hire vehicle, then they need a PH operator's license.

I think it will depend on where the booking is confirmed from, i.e. the home address/booking office of the firm.

In my case the booking office is my home address and that is the address on the operators license.
