If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it's probably a duck and if you grass up your fellow drivers for minor misdemeanors you are a troublemaker and a scumbag.

I doubt if more than 10% of my passangers wear seatbelts. Do you insist that ALL of yours do then?

Hi all

Wow didnt realise you all cared so much, I have also found out this guy is operating a council contract without the relevant badges.

Thanks for all the advice.

seems like he is a bit of a loose cannon.

I will think about it but why should he get away with it when I and all the rest of us do the right thing.

As I stated previously, he is driving without insurance.

As Brummie stated, he is doing other, law-abiding colleagues out of work.

If he is that arrogant, what other breaches are there against the licensing conditions or the law?

So, all you drivers saying, grass him up! are you all operating to the law or conditions?
What YOU fail to realise is that he is doing someone else out of a run, by taking a 2 car job.

That would make him a coward as well as a grass

Driving without the correct insurance is, in your opinion, a minor misdemeanor I take it.

I advise all my passengers to put their seat belts on & I phrase it in such a polite but forceful way that 99.5% of them do.

Obviously, you can't be bothered whether your passengers do or don't wear seat belts & so you are clearly failing in your Duty of Care to your passengers.

All front passengers wear their belt cos it beeps if they don't. I always insist that the passenger behind me wears theirs also, cos my life is worth protecting. It's second nature to me to ask the passengers to put their belts on and most comply

That's a bit of a heavy handed comment to make to somebody just because they've asked for advice. I take it you don't mind if scumbag drivers that flout the laws and regulations and place passenger safety at risk drive for your LA. On the note of ducks and di*kheads your point is made

I ask them to wear a seat belt, pointing out to them that in my car it's the passenger who gets the fine, not the driver. Most comply.

To the original point of the thread, the guy appears to be committing many indiscretions that could ultimately reflect badly on the trade as a whole or, worse, lead to some one being injured or even killed. Mavericks like that should not be in a trade where practitioners are responsible for the safety of others.

On the seatbelt point I think you are right, you ask and its up to the passenger, I think thats part of the NVQ thingy?

Isn't the driver liable if the passenger is under 14?

You're right, but I'm not sure off the top of my head what the age is? The driver would receive the fine and points for allowing a child to travel in the front of the vehicle without a seatbelt.

I think its also against many byelaws throughout the country to allow children in the front seats of Hackney Carriages.

That aside, I was referring to adults
