Again i ask where is the equality and parity ??

You are assuming that all saloons are sheds. This is not the case. If saloons were allowed the conditions could be such that those that have been to the moon and back as you put it are not licenced. A decent saloon vehicle for taxis can be anything from £14,000 upwards. Given that a WAV can be as little as £24,000 with a longer life span than that of a saloon it balances itself out

So why not buy one ???

Ermmmmm let me see :? Cos I don't want one  I travel 55 miles each way to work and I don't fancy doing it in a WAV thank you very much. I have however just purchased a nice new saloon vehicle cos my other one was over 3 years old. I replace my saloon vehicle every 3 years approx so whilst I may have been to the moon and back (or at least that's how it felt) my vehicle hasn't.

Now if I get a passenger in a wheelchair that would like to sit in the seat I have a boot big enough to put a folded down wheelchair in and they won't be travelling backwards either, which some people don't like. Also if I get passengers that need to sit into a vehicle rather than step into a vehicle they can do that too.

To offer the best service there should be choice of vehicle for the customer to decide which one they prefer and also for drivers to choose which they prefer. Some drivers don't like the closeness of saloon vehicles and prefer to have a partition between them and the customer

I cannot understand why anyone would actually choose to have a WAV [if they could choose], over a saloon.

Not wanting to be touched up by the driver?

Wanting a vehicle that takes more than four.

Wanting a vehicle that will take more than one bag of shopping or suitcase.

Wanting a vehicle that takes a buggy, without the need to unfold it.

Wanting a vehicle where you can stretch your legs.

How do you secure a buggy?

Touching is of course optional

In the new TW200 there are enough straps to secure Hannibal Lector. :D

Can't be guaranteed in a HC

There are vehicles available that although are not saloons they're not WAV's either

Mine does that. It has to being female I like to shop

This is an extremely unsafe practice and shouldn't be encouraged

My feet don't touch the floor in a WAV so I can stretch my legs in most vehicles, but, I do see your point even tho there's quite decent leg room in my vehicle

who wants to stretch out in a taxi? its not as if the passenger is in the vehicle for more than 5 minutes with normal jobs anyway.

No punters kneeing you in the back, no punters grabbing hold of the driver's seat when they want to get out.

Luxury.

No offensive weapon to the back of your head

No offensive smell to the nostrils

No offensive abuse to your brittany spears (Ears) Turn off intercom.

U can keep your Mini-Cabs..sorry...Saloons

Final Word...If The Government implemented a one tier all WAV system..

How many would take the plunge ??
And how many would take the roof sign off and Hand back ??

Both have advantages and disadvantages over each other tbh.

I won't be slinging mine back if I have to swap.

And I like to back Toots up regarding the unsecured buggy routine, it's overlooked as a safety issue and should a WAV get turned over baby will simply fall to the roof like an egg, not good tbh.

Given the fact that around 85% of WAV owners have never carried a wheelchair whats the point in forking out for one

This is the perfect taxi

http://www.autojunk.nl/2009/09/skoda-superb-combi-2

You have to get past the Renissan add 1st, but have a look

Luggage - check
Legroom - check
Economic - check
Executive - check
Cost - check
Comfort - check

Can't be beat for less than 35k, and then you only get a 15k badge as extra.

I'm not sure those numbers are right.

Maybe we could ask any WAV owner on here if they have never taken a wheelchair bound punter. :?

I know plenty who tried their hardest not to pick a chair up, agree that most will have by now though at some point.
