I'd say that was an offence under section 55 of the TPCA 1847 - I'd also say the chap who started this thread was bordering on committing the same offence - if no offence was actually committed it would then possibly be a section 54 offence - refusal to drive.

We would all be very rich sitting on cab ranks cherry picking fares - because that's what it sounds like happened - the fact someone made a complaint at all is a minor miracle in itself.

How can you overcharge someone when no money has changed hands?



Can you quote an unreasonable amount knowing the punter will either accept - and pay you over the odds or refuse and leave you top of a rank?
