Well you all had a comment some good some total crap well I had my day in court today and charge of no insurance dismissed as they are not sure if an offence took place and the prosecuter told me you can pick up the odd client in a Un licensed vehicle as long as you have sdp and business insurance

Was this a magistrates court or a crown court? Is there a transcript available? Interesting that you say the "prosecutor" said that you can pick up clients in an unlicensed vehicle. :?

He didn't say use a unlicensed vehicle he said you can get business insurance which might allow you to use it as a last resort if u do pick anyone up and not charging them

No insurance is summary only, so it would be a Mags court.

of course there was an offence - unplated car used for taxi...a hanging offence, you were just lucky (if you can be believed)

I love it so now your a copper you know the law
Well the law is as long as no money changes hands no hire reward needed
How many people take friends or family to the airports without hire reward that's why there is this grey area
The prosecuter said to me we drop the charge as we don't think or not sure there has been an offence
But hey you know more so you must be right
