Hi all
i have just applied for my Hack/PH licence. Having never done any Taxi work before i would be happy for any tips from all you experienced drivers. I have been promised at least 4 days work from a local operator, i am aware that you either love or hate the job, if i love it i may get my own Taxi. Time will tell.
I am in the Cannock Chase area.

Thanks

But there are seven in a week. :?

Anyway if you work hard and do cr** hours, then you will earn enough to exist. If you want to work 9.00am to 17.00pm, Mon to Fri, then you wont.

Don't give up your day job just yet.

It's a little quiet at the moment but you can earn a living if you put the hours in. What 4 days will you have a vehicle for because that could really determine how much you can earn and if it's enough to live on.

Tues day, thurs night, fri night, sun night. I know its quiet at the mo but the operator has a few school runs and airport work. Fingers crossed i will be OK.
Even if things dont work out at least i have given it a go, better than nowt.

Tuesday day is ok in my neck of the woods so I think it's a case of trying it first. The cars available for 4 days might as well use it on those days

Stark reality of the Taxi Trade is quite simply this young skywalker..
1. Credit crunch means fewer fares.
2. Longer hours for 1996's wages.
3. De-limitation creates over-ranking situation.
4. Totally mis-governed Trade = Anarchy.
5. Buy a Euro Millions Ticket on Friday..more chance of making money off that.
8. Get a job with "The I'm Losing The Plot" Helpline. You'd never be out of work with our lot !

Not far from me then, nor wannabe either.

And I'll promise you that you will win the jackpot if you buy a Euromillions ticket on Friday; that's how much that promise is worth. All the operators want is your weekly settle; few of them can supply that amount of work, especially in the present economic climate.

But good luck in the trade anyway & here's hoping I'm wrong about your local operator for your sake.

7. Nvq if you're dead lucky some shady company will do most of it for you and then claim their unjust desserts
