if your local council conditions allow it, then yes they can. ring your local LO and ask. if it is not allowed ask to make a formal complaint if you wish to do so. |

If anything gives Mr Average the impression that something that isn't a taxi, is a taxi, then your council should stop that. If it is a PSV, then maybe a phone call to your local Traffic Commissioner could help. |

Take his number and give it to the local licensing department. If they fail to act give the same details to the local Traffic commissioner. Maybe you could take a picture and post it on here it would be of interest to see one of these vehicles displaying a Taxi Hire sign. Best wishes JD |

Erm..... A "restricted PSV with 8 seats" ? It must already be a Hackney Carriage !!! Unless, of course, it's operated by StageCoach/FirstBus/Arriva etc... Or, unless it charges separate fares and is operating a registered route. If it isn't a Hackney already, it cannot be dual-licensed as a PSV. This sounds well out of order if it isn't. It's the 8 seats and form of operation that makes the difference. |

the LA next to yours have no power over anything over 8 seats like all councils they have not the power to allow it or disallow it, enforce it or touch it in anyway. |
