CC i agree, maybe some police forces should be shown these ,then they could take the proper action rather than saying they would be covered by third party liabilities

A divisional commander is reviewing the situation in Dundee after being sent the case law
Also 203020 drivers have been told they will not be able to use fatsams central after 28Th of march.The company had said at license meeting 4Th Feb that it was causing to much trouble  It also happens to be the same date that the booking liscence will come into play

I wonder why it's taken so long for your divisional commander to be aware of such caselaw? I wonder if the chap from Chichester has passed this caselaw to the people around there? CC |

It is going to be discussed at a meeting with the STF in Stirling tomorrow.They are pushing for this to be the norm through out Scotland.The case law came from a merseyside police officer "very nice man"after the Dundee taxi association made inquiries to police forces though out Britain. They made theses enquiries after the cabs officer said that private hire would be covered by third party insurance.In fact he said that he would be happy if taxis just had third party insurance"what a numpty".So in Dundee you do not need taxi insurance well so says the cabs officer. |

I know you can get third party taxi/private hire insurance but i am sure no lo would allow third party sdp. £100 for insurance now that would be good

£100 for insurance now that would be good When I bought my first taxi. It was insured third party, fire and theft with hire or reward. This was done through Swinton insurance. The cost, as this was a new business at the time was £1800 and fully comp was £3600 for a Peugeot 406. this went down to £1400 when I bought a Vauxhall vectra. When we decided to insure both cars and added a third we were offered a fleet policy at just over £1000 per car fully comp. |
