Post subject:  Got A Bogus Booking Call The Police ???

Last night i had a call from the local police station saying that they wanted to speak to me about the £70 worth of orders that i had placed with the local Kebeb shop from my mobile phone that i had not picked up over the last day or so. After a lot of ranting and having to log onto Vodafone online to prove i had not rang them they realised they had made a mistake and had took my number off one of my cars for a cab on Sunday and given the police the wrong bit of paper (the free large pizza was nice though). Anyway i told the copper its a good job i dont complain when someone calls me for a taxi and dont turn out because you would be busy all day and surely i cant do that. He assured me that if someone books a cab and does not turn up for it that i can report this to the law and they will have to investigate it and get the details of the phones owner and visit them. Is this true, has anyone ever bothered doing this, i certainly would not bother i just add the number to the T****R entry on my phone book and send them a lovely text.

I would be amazed if anyone has reported a false call to the police, and doubt anyone ever will.

However the police do have a point, and I wonder if the call could be classed as a malicious call. Which is an offence.
