Hi all

Can you tell me I know of a hack in my town whom carries 6 people and is only licenced for 5.

Does this effect his insurance, should the licensing council be made aware?

Im new to the business and dont want to be seen as a troublemaker.

Im told he is a bit of a know it all and some guys say he thinks he is above the law so we would like to bring him down a peg or two.

If it's licensed for 5, then it is legally only allowed to carry a maximum of five punters.

Send an e-mail to your licensing officer.

His insurance will be invalid given that he is driving in contravention of licensing conditions.

Isn't that their problem, they should be out there doing what they get paid for doing, and I am sure the police would stop him, if seen.

I don't think they are suppose to be out there 24/7 and how are the police to know how many he's licensed for :?

So wouldn't a quiet word be more appropriate, perhaps this driver doesnt know he can't carry 6.

Don't be seen as being a troublemaker, you never know whats round the corner, we all make mistakes.

I think the answer to your point is in the original post?

Oh yeah, didn't see that bit, sorry.
But since he is new to the game perhaps the old hands are egging him on to grass him up, because they don't want the agro.
Don't do it.
