Revolutionary plan?????......Has'nt this been conceived a thousand times before but Did'nt pay because it did'nt work...

How can a Taxi with 4 punters in it make it pay if the sap driver has a round trip of 15 miles??...Buses thar Carry up to 60 people at a time struggle to make it pay. Doh!

Yes it has, but he is one of the people trying to "claim a plate" so he is not working at the moment, and wants his redundant hackney re licensing as a taxi bus.

Perhaps the person who's got the plate might want to buy it

How long before the knockers start
Some people are still living in the 1970's

I floated this idea over a year ago with taxi licencing and at the time others that the Thinker is friends with also had the same idea (check it out with your station buddies Mr H)

By the way it is only a idea ( something to talk about ) to see if it could work. but with some people any idea is no good unless you thought of it. So who thought up black livery and age limits

Maybe as I have put my name to it then some people think it will not work or they are just trying to blacken my name?

As some have said the idea has been available to taxis for sometime but some do not want new things to work, some think that they are the only one's running the taxi's, is nobody else allowed to air their views

Most of the comments so far have not read the plan I put to the council,
A) It would not be designed for 4 seated cars, it is for mulitseaters but people with 4 seats are welcome to join in. So £8/£7/£6/£5
B) The distance is set to a suburb and a setting down place, or from there to town, so no 15 mile round trip Approx a £6 or £7 jobs
C) The plate situation has nothing to do with this although you would like it to be, but keep it going it makes me more determined
D) It is aimed at using taxis when they are empty and any taxi driver who wants to drive round empty is not really thinking about it
So this would be the question
Question
Do you want to return to town for no money
or
Do you want to return to town for £1 - £6

E) before you rubbish the idea just do the maths
How many taxi miles per day in York EMPTY
How many buses running round York with nobody on and clogging the traffic up
Do not just think about yourself this time add up everyone,
It is stupid how many wasted miles.

So instead of trying to pull people to bits put your thoughts to how such a system could work and we will all be happy if you come to the right conclusion or is it only about yourself

Good idea........the DFT allow PHV's to do that too now

Take the taxi sign off the roof......and bobs your uncle.

What ever happens good or bad only time will tell...

When the idea surfaced out here in the sticks the vehicles taking up the Taxi/Bus idea had to have ticket issuing machines and a bloody great sign like a bus to show which routes they were servicing...

But then again...this is just a Dicounted taxi fare and not technically a bus of any description....and who wins from a discounting war..

I am not claiming a plate
(although I agree with the person who is diputing ownership as I know the circumstances around it)
I drive a vehicle that is in dispute on who owns the vehicle
I am working, could stay where I am but you would have no one to slag off
I do not own a hackney, just a Hackney drivers badge
If you think Taxibus will only benifits me then why comment?

You seem bitter and twisted, is it because of the cutbacks in funding or are you just bitter and twisted anyway

Can you please think up different reasons to slag me off,as the same one's all the time are getting a bit stale
