I have just left the trade.

I renewed my HC Drivers Badge on April 1st for 2 years it cost £261.

I have asked the council for a partial refund, three quarters of the cost of the licence minus £22, the cost of a drivers badge.

£158, quite fair I thought.

The answer was no. No refunds full stop.

I am considering taking them to the county court.

Does anyone know of a licensing authority which gives refunds on partially used licences upon surrender of such licence? :?: :?:

I could stand corrected but when I was with Newport (Gwent) something rings a bell on that one. It may well be worth a call just to find out.

So, just so I can get this right, your driver's badge is £130 a year? :?

Or is that the cost of your vehicle license? :?

If it's your driver's license then your council is acting outside of the law by charging more than the processing costs of the driver's badge.

Maybe you should ask?

the act is quite specific, the labour involved doesnt cost any more because its late.

Change of Business (Sell Car and Transfer Plate) £309.00....£65 Here

How can it cost £300 to change a name on a A4 piece of paper?....

This is highlighting the case for 1 national licensing service, and a 1-tier operating service, "Passenger vehicle small PVS" with rotas for ranks....
