| Post subject: | help please licence revoked |
I've had my badge revoked for perjury i have appealed so i can keep driving but i really need some help. i had some problems last year with the vale of white horse council they tried to take my badge of me because i had an allegation of rape in 2006 this was the worst thing that i have ever had to go though. shortly after this was sorted i got a speeding ticket and started to panic that this would start the council of again so a good friend offered to take the points well on the 1st of Feb i got arrested for perjury so i had a meting with the vale of white horse council and the revoked my license I've appealed and have to go to court how the hell IM i going to get the court to over turn the councils decision. ive been a taxi driver for 7 years and love it i have had no complaints i no it was a silly thing to do. please some one must be able to help |

You don't need the good folks of TDO to tell you what to do in your case, you need a very very good defence solicitor. In my opinion the losing of your hackney carriage badge is the least of your concerns, passing of points for whatever reason is a very serious crime, and you might be going to jail for it. Sorry to be so blunt, but you need professional help as a matter of urgency. I wish you well. |

The points alone could not have lost him his license His License had been renewed 2 to 3 times since his last offence. Perhaps there were other factors that lead to the need for perjury . |

having the 3 points wouldnt have lost me my licence but i felt i was being picked on they have been very unfair to me over the last 4 years and i just couldnt face having to tell them i have had my badge suspended 3 times and revoked twice since 2006 and the last offence on my crb is 2000 so they were aware of this when i first applied also i have only had 1 complaint which was a bit silly which was jumping a red light when there was no traffic lights at the junction i no this dosnt justify perjury but surly most people can understand why i did it |

What do you mean you couldn't face telling them that you have had your licence suspended 3 times and revoked twice since 2006? Who couldn't you face telling? The police wouldn't be bothered and the council would already know. What was your licence suspended and revoked for? |

Sorry mate your'e not going to like what I have to say. 3 badge suspensions, 2 revocations, jumping a red light, speeding, offence listed on your CRB, getting someone else to take points for a motoring offence and an allegation of rape to boot. This jobs all about motoring and being trusted to carry members of the public in safety, put yourself in the licensing offices shoes - would YOU give yourself a licence ? With what I've read I wouldnt. Harsh words I know, but that's my opinion. |

ok maybe i should try and explain i first got my taxi badge in 2004 i had a record on my crb dating 2000 but the council was ok with this then in 2006 they changed there mind and suspended my badge so i got my solicitor on it and then they suspended it again for driving badly in a road that had 1ft of water (long story) but it went to court and the magistrate ordered the council to pay my solicitors bill as they were taking the [edited by admin] then they revoked it because i was accused of rape the police took no action then suspended again for perjury and revoked after a council meeting so i have done NOTHING WRONG APART FROM PERJURY |

That's the problem. Max imprisonment 7 years, thankfully for you, on the basis of the information you have posted, it could be a few months, and if you get a good solicitor who can put across a good list of mitigating circumstances the sentence may be suspended. http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/s_to_u/sent ... l/perjury/ |
