Dear Contractor, I regret to inform you that the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) have increased the charge for an enhanced discloure to £44 from today. An enhanced disclosure is required for anyone working as a 'school bus driver', a 'passenger escort', or a taxi driver transporting children or vulnerable adults on council contract work. Please ensure that when you submit future applications you enclose the correct fee. The Council will automatically adjust the amount if you choose to pay on receipt of an invoice. In respect of taxi drivers the County Council has not sought a separate CRB disclosure from that already required by the district council (or Leiceter City Council) who issue taxi driver's liences. There is a possibility that some licensing authorities may decide to require a standard level check on taxi drivers in the future - and if this is the case the County Council will no longer be able to accept the licensing authority process. To avoid having to have separate CRB checks to a) become or continue as a licenced taxi driver and b) a taxi driver who is able to undertake council contract work drivers can ask their licensing authority to be checked at the enhanced level. NB The Council continues to process CRB checks with no administration fee so as to keep costs to contractors as low as possible. If you have any queries concerning the above please contact Dave Smith via e-mail dave.smith@leics.gov.uk Varsha Mistry Admin. Officer PTU Tel. 0116 3058116 |

Sorry, I am not authorised to look at CRB checks. However a mate of mine had an enhanced CRB check for his private hire badge but then had to have a standard CRB check for his personal pub licence. |
